An award-winning 4 Red Star hotel with 2-Rosette restaurant Fern Dining Room & Bar, Jesmond Dene House is situated in a leafy suburb of Jesmond, 5 minutes from Newcastle-upon-Tyne City Centre. Overlooking the wooded valley of Jesmond Dene, this historic property contains 40 bedrooms, a restaurant, and extensive banqueting and private dining facilities.

We make it a priority in supporting chefs outside competition such as the National Chef of the Year, Craft Guild of Chefs Graduate award programme. Over time we have seen staff members promoted from kitchen porter through to sous chef, staying with us for over 10 years.

Chef de Partie

Fern boast menu's which are is straightforward; flavoursome, classics, cooked from the heart. The atmosphere promises to be relaxed and friendly but has a passionate attention to detail. No gimmicks, no fuss; just a genuinely warm welcome and an invitation to indulge. Serving; breakfast, afternoon tea, all day dining, a la carte dinner & Sunday lunch.

We are looking for a Chef de Partie to assist the Head Chef in the preparation, cooking and presenting of high quality food. You will assist in all kitchen operations, with a focus on the main kitchen cooking A la Carte dishes for Fern Dining Room, as well as pastry and conference and banqueting as required.

£10.10 per hour

Pastry Chef de Partie

Jesmond Dene House is renowned for our sumptuous Afternoon Tea and A la Carte desserts; this role is for a passionate and creative individual with a flare for baking. Reporting to the Executive Head Chef, you will run the pastry department and ensure all products are to the Jesmond Dene House standards we are renowned for. The ideal candidate is a person who is confident working on Pastry, and will have previous experience in a hotel environment, and a similar standard.

Hotel Reservationist

Priding ourselves on our high levels of service, we are seeking a full time customer focused individual with experience in hospitality who can champion our Four Red Star Standards, focusing on the pre-arrival of our guests, ensuring that we have all of the details required to create a memorable stay from start to finish.
This role would be suitable for a current hotel receptionist looking to make the career move into reservations, or a hotel reservationist looking to move to a Red Star hotel. It is an exciting new role which will be the hub of our hotel and encompass both Hotel and Fern Dining Room & Bar reservations.

£21,000 per year

Food & Beverage Manager

We are in an enviable location; almost in the country yet still in the city. Our stunning boutique hotel is home to our neighbourhood restaurant Fern Dining Room & Bar, serving A la Carte Dinner, Afternoon Tea, Bar Food and Sunday Lunch. With three private dining rooms and The Great Hall we cater for banqueting events and wedding up to 130 guests.

We are looking for a Food & Beverage Manager to ensure the smooth running of all food and beverage activities at Jesmond Dene House Hotel and the profitability of the hotel in conjunction with the senior management team. The role is accountable for the day to day food and beverage operations of the hotel, ensuring that all guests receive a warm welcome and an amazing visit.

This is a senior management role and acts as a Duty Manager of the hotel and deputises for the General Manager in their absence. You’re first-class in everything you do and want to find an environment that’s as obsessive about quality as you are.

£35,000-£45,000 per year

Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

We are looking for a driven candidate with a love for hospitality, to assist the Food & Beverage Manager in the overall operational and financial performance of the Food and Beverage operations at Jesmond Dene House. You will manage the team, ensuring the smooth running of the weddings, events, private dining and Fern Dining Room & Bar, maximising guest satisfaction and Jesmond Dene House standards. You have an eye for detail; always upholding the highest standards and ensuring every shift is in the very safest pair of hands.

Food & Beverage Supervisor

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to join our food and beverage department as a supervisor, working as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of Fern Dining Room & Bar, and our wedding and events department. You will need to be passionate about creating a great atmosphere and giving guests the best experience.

Food & Beverage Waiter

We are on the lookout for waiting staff to join Jesmond Dene House, working across our neighbourhood restaurant Fern Dining Room & Bar, and our busy conference and events department.
Whether your new to the job or have prior experience, we are looking for someone with an eye for detail and a vibrant personality to join our team.

Bar Staff

We are looking for a passionate and driven individual to serve a variety of drinks and cocktails in Fern Dining Room & Bar, delivering a memorable experience to our guests. You will be experienced and have a flair for making authentic cocktails as well as being able to serve more traditional drinks.
