Accessibility & Inclusivity at Jesmond Dene House

Jesmond Dene House welcomes all guests and is proud to be both accessible and inclusive. We are happy to cater for a wide range of requirements and want every visitor to feel comfortable, valued, and at home.

We kindly ask anyone who wishes to join us to stay, dine, or attend an event to inform us in advance of any special needs or personal requirements, so we can make arrangements tailored to you.

We have disabled parking bays in the car park, signed in contrasting colours for easy recognition. Concierges are also available to give additional assistance with luggage. All ground floor public areas – including the Restaurant, Bar, Lounge, and Great Hall are accessible to wheelchair users. The Conference and Events rooms on the lower ground floor are accessible by lift. There are accessible toilets on both the ground and lower ground floors, and lifts to access bedroom accommodation on the upper floors. All doorways and openings are also wheelchair friendly.

We have a Deluxe bedroom which is a fully accessible room with a wet room, seat in the shower, lowered bed and other facilities. For added safety, the bedroom door opens automatically when the fire alarm sounds.

We also cater for a large range of dietary requirements in the Restaurant or at special Events, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, nut free and can provide allergy friendly and halal and kosher on request.

Our staff are well trained to assist guests with visual, hearing, and mobility impairments, and we are committed to ensuring that everyone regardless of background, identity, or ability feels welcome and respected.
