TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF JESMOND DENE HOUSE (updated 30/6/20)
Dear Family and Friends of Jesmond Dene House,
The Government has announced that, effective 4th July 2020, a large number of businesses will be allowed to re-open, although under strict guidelines. This includes pubs, bars, restaurants and hotels.
At Jesmond Dene House Hotel we wish to provide the following clarifications to both our patient and dedicated staff and to our many guests who are eagerly anticipating our return to full services.
We do not plan to open any sections of the JDH business on 4th July. We remain extremely concerned that the health, safety and welfare of everyone involved with JDH, staff and visitors, must be at the forefront of our operational planning and we must be able to ensure that they will not be at risk. We are working diligently on this.
We have also been communicating with guests who have wedding bookings and we are currently planning to support wedding functions only from 1st September onwards, though we recognise that at present, government limitations are for 30 guests. We would wish for everyone to have the occasion of their dreams and hopefully this will be increased when considered safe and appropriate, but we will continue to respect the wishes of our wedding parties if they wish to delay their functions to a more appropriate time. Our dedicated staff are fully committed to supporting the weddings, but we do not intend to open the restaurant or accommodation until further notice.
We believe we owe our staff and guests an honest and candid update on how we view the immediate future, and that we remain alert to changes in the impact of the virus and on the needs of our customers. We will follow up this message when it is appropriate.
We look forward to welcoming you all back to Jesmond Dene House in the future.
