A special meal deserves a memorable setting. Our Newcastle hotel combines a historic building with peaceful surroundings yet is only minutes from the city centre.
With three private dining rooms plus the Great Hall, between them seating from two to 100 guests (and 120 for a reception), there are plenty of choices whether for a lunch party, private supper, celebration, business dinner, drinks reception or formal banquet. Overlooking the garden, and with a private terrace, the Norman Shaw Room can comfortably seat 20 people. On the lower ground floor, the John Dobson Room also has access to this terrace and can seat up to 30 people. The next door Frank Rich Room, overlooking the trees of the Dene, is a more intimate room seating up to 12 people.
Larger parties can use the Great Hall, a spectacular, double-height room with oak and silk wall panelling, Gothic windows, carved inglenook fireplace and minstrels' gallery. With a separate, stone arched entrance - away from hotel and restaurant guests - and dedicated lounge bar, up to 100 people can sit down to dinner or around 120 gather for receptions.
